SATURDAY, SEPT 21- PETERBOROUGH, ON 10KM / 1KM RACE & MONARCH FESTIVAL
The Monarch Ultra is planning Peterborough's second annual Monarch Butterfly Festival and 10km Race this fall at Millennium Park. The 10km race will start at Millennium Park and will wind along the Rotary Trail and back. There will also be a 1km Kids Fun Run included in the event! The race will also be an opportunity to fundraise for the conservation of monarch sanctuaries in central Mexico. We will be working with our Mexican partnerNacion Verde to support reforestation efforts in the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve.
THE FESTIVAL The Monarch Butterfly Festival is an annual event to celebrate and raise awareness for monarch conservation, and to create opportunities for community members to engage in environmental action. After the 10km Monarch Race, join us for a free community-led festival that promises amazing music, performances, crafts, face painting, informational booths, and speakers.
