SATURDAY, SEPT 20, 2025 - PETERBOROUGH, ON 10KM / 1KM RACE & MONARCH FESTIVAL
The Monarch Ultra is planning Peterborough's third annual Monarch Butterfly Festival and 10km Race on Saturday, September 20th at Millennium Park. The 10km race will start at Millennium Park and will wind along the Rotary Trail and back. There will also be a 1km Kids Fun Run included in the event! The race will be an opportunity to fundraise for Camp Kawartha to build pollinator gardens at various schools in Peterborough and Curve Lake. The funds will directly go to purchasing native plants to create nature-rich schoolyards that serve as powerful examples of reconciliation with the land — places where people and nature can thrive side by side.
THE FESTIVAL The Monarch Festival is a vibrant and engaging annual celebration dedicated to raising awareness for monarch butterfly conservation. This lively event brings together a wonderful mix of live music, local crafts, face painting, and informative booths to educate and inspire attendees about the importance of preserving these majestic creatures. With guest speakers sharing their knowledge, delicious food to enjoy, and a sense of community spirit, the Monarch Festival offers a fun-filled experience for all ages. Join us in supporting this meaningful cause while celebrating nature’s beauty! The event starts at 10:00am and goes on until 2:00pm at Millennium Park. We encourage you and your family to join us!
